What a great first meeting back! We all got to catch up after a summer break
As we prepare to resume our weekly meetings this fall, I wanted to re-introduce myself and our new board members.
Our Past President is Rachelle Garcia. She did a phenomenal job working tirelessly through the past few years, taking on the role during the pandemic. She kept us connected as we navigated Zoom meetings, and returned to in person meetings last year. Her love of surveys meant there was a way to get feedback from all members before making any decisions in our association, including revising and updating our constitution. I'm grateful to have her experience at my side as a valued member of our board for this coming year, not just as past president, but also taking over the Marketing and Social Media position. She is excited to launch a new video interview project, as a way of highlighting our members and their accomplishments.
Nicole Hacock continues in her role as Treasurer. We are grateful that she agrees to remain in this position for years for continuity of our association. She has sent out invoices for our lunch for September and October, which will now be paid bi-monthly. Thank you Nicole!
Rebecca Butler has chosen to remain the Secretary for our board. While happily retired, she loves the positive community of our group. We are pleased to have her working with us.
Joanne Atkins, a longtime member and valued living historian for our association, remains in the position of Special Projects. She will be planning our quarterly Out-Of-the-Box lunches, where we tour different venues in Kitchener-Waterloo. We appreciate her party planning and social gathering skills.
Nancy Koebel, another longtime valued member, will continue in the role of Member At Large. Knowing first-hand many of the positions on the board, she steps in to assist in all areas. We are grateful that she agreed to continue assisting our organization.
Shanna Koetsier is a new member on the board this coming year. She is taking on the position of Membership. All inquiries into our organization will be met with her professionalism.
Emese Fabry stepped into the Vice President's role partway through last year. She will continue being the liaison with Charcoal Steakhouse, updating us on menu choices and confirming room locations. Em will also be arranging our guest speakers, which will start at the end of September.
Lastly there's me. My name is Kristin Moore and I'm pleased to be serving as your President for this coming year. I have been a member since I started my business in late 2017, and have been a member of the board in Social Media for the past four years. With such a talented board working alongside me, my role as president is an easy one.
We are looking forward to reconnecting with our members and hearing about any changes and promotions in their businesses.
Welcome back!
Kristin Moore
What a great first meeting back! We all got to catch up after a summer break
Today we had our final networking lunch at Charcoal Steakhouse before we take a break for summer and we welcomed our Board of Directors for 23/24.
Members shared about their businesses and gave testimonials on those whose services we have used. We love hearing and being enlightened from our members!
For over 30 years I have enjoyed the camaraderie of all of the women in the KWBWA. They are a dynamic, wonderful group of women.
The variety of women members, not only in the businesses represented, but the business and personality strengths of each one makes belonging to this organization both beneficial and fun.
As a past president and long standing member of the K-W Business Women's association I can truly say that being part of the KW Business Women's Group has impacted both my career and personal life immensely.
As a newcomer to Canada, I had no idea how to get more clients and how to grow my business until a friend suggested I join this networking group. How lucky I was to join.
